- How do you achieve the smoky flavor (wok hei) in Yeokdae Jjamppong?
- We adhere to a cooking standard of stir-frying 90 times. Because smoky flavor comes from the process of handling the fire and wok rather than ingredients or seasonings, seafood and vegetables are stir-fried over high heat for a set time so that the smoky aroma infuses into the broth. The slogan "Real smoky flavor comes from stir-frying 90 times" originated from this standard.
- Is it okay to visit alone?
- Yes, it is fine. We offer a Solo Set (11,000 KRW) for solo diners. With 8 pieces of sweet and sour pork (tangsuyuk) and 3 dumplings, the portion is not too large, making it a great accompaniment to a bowl of jjamppong or jjajangmyeon.
